Psychotherapy & Individual Psychology

Psychotherapy is a new encounter and an intensive exploration of our ‘self’. The process of reflection during therapy promotes our maturing process and helps us to overcome life problems. This means that we get to know ourselves anew, find out who and what exactly we want to become or be, and learn to feel and hear ourselves in the process.

Individual psychological thinking is based on the assumption that unconscious processes fundamentally determine a person's conscious experience and actions. The focus is particularly on the position of the individual within his/her social environment and the ability to shape relationships. Individual psychology attempts to understand the unconscious meaning of states of illness and suffering in order to open up new possibilities for experience, decision-making and action for those seeking help.

This confidential work that we do in psychotherapy is comparable to a journey, in which I would be happy to accompany and support you. Wherever it takes us - from the here and now into the past, into our unconscious, or into wishes and dreams - it helps us to recognise our unique lifestyle. This happens in dialogue and in a trusting relationship between client and therapist, who is there to help on this journey.

Individual Psychology, one of the most traditional schools of analytical depth psychology, was founded by Alfred Adler in 1911. Since its origins, it has been used in professional fields in which an analytical understanding of interpersonal relationships is of crucial importance, such as psychotherapy, counselling, education and supervision.
